‘K-weekender’ is a weekend programme that offers Korean Films and Food workshops together with art installations by young Korean artists. Curated by ‘ZAANCHI’, the Korean Culture Collective was established by two Korean friends living in Amsterdam. It all started with a question we were often asked: “Why are you so angry?”. We went on a journey to define the origins of our anger and to navigate where this anger could take us. Now, we are ready to share and digest our findings with you through angry food and spicy movies.

The first edition of K-weekender revolves around the topic of ANGER (‘HWA’). HWA, meaning both ‘fire’ and ‘anger’ in Korean, is found in every corner of Korean culture, including our food and films. Koreans are angry people. Like fire hardens wood into charcoal, ANGER has hardened us into who we are today.

Fierce, fiery, passionate, angry people.

Not only do we offer you a fantastic array of films, they are accompanied by food workshops! There are two in total. You can purchase your tickets by clicking the links below.
