When indie comic character Pepe the Frog becomes an unwitting icon of hate, his creator fights to bring Pepe back from the darkness. A Frankenstein-meets-Alice in Wonderland journey of an artist battling to regain control of his creation.

Matt Furie is the creator of the once innocent comic character named Pepe the Frog. In this documentary we see his struggle to reclaim his creation from those who turned it into a symbol of hate. Brought to life in his comic Boy’s Club, Pepe soon showed up on 4chan and this is where alt-right started to use the image for their own message. The documentary is an interesting study on ownership in internet culture, where creations can get a life on their own.

“…the movie is a vertiginous, head-slapping examination of the tangible, unpredictable consequences of making art.”
New York Times

“You’ve just got to see it. It is chilling, hopeful, terrible, and wonderful—and made with care, gorgeous animation, and perfect pacing.”
Los Angeles Magazine

“Many documentaries become less interesting the more you already know about the subject. But FEELS GOOD MAN presents a heavily covered story in a thoughtful and vivid way.”
