Filmmaker duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are making their own multiverse with Everything Everywhere All at Once, after turning down an offer from Marvel. The directors say they have made an answer to the famous The Matrix with this film.

Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh), along with her husband Waymond (Key Hun Quan), have an unsuccessful laundromat, a rebellious daughter and a tax return that just doesn’t seem to end. Exactly at the moment when it all becomes too much, the universe tears apart into an infinite number of universes and Evelyn is no longer just a laundromat owner, but internationally known movie star, kung fu master, chef or perhaps the hero everyone needed all along.
